1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing a ProxiCube®.
Your ProxiCube® actively draws in the room air – it measures, reports and documents what is inside it. The measured values are conveniently displayed and documented in several places:
- ProxiCube® display: value display for aerosol concentration (only with model NX3), indoor air quality (IAQ), CO2 concentration, temperature, air pressure and humidity.
- LED strip on the ProxiCube®: CO2 traffic light signal.
- ProxiCube® App: For convenient retrieval of the measurement values via your smartphone.
- ProxiCube® Cloud: The measured values are documented for you in the cloud so that you can compare or track your indoor air quality at any time. In doing so, we ensure that data is handled in accordance with GDPR.

The ProxiCube® is in operation after being connected to the power supply. To switch off the device, it must be disconnected from the connection cable. To do this, remove the micro-USB connector from the micro-USB socket of the ProxiCube®, as this serves as an isolating device.
When selecting the installation location, ensure that the display is easy to read.
Wall mounting is only permitted with optional accessories that you can obtain from us (as soon as they are available). If it is wall-mounted without these accessories, secure wall mounting is not guaranteed.
4.1.1 UNSUITABLE INSTALLATION SITE
To ensure trouble-free operation, the installation site should be free of direct sunlight and not in the vicinity of heat sources, lighting equipment (e.g. fireplaces, stoves, gas/oil heating, etc.), ventilation systems, air treatment systems (e.g. air humidifiers, ionizers, etc.), microwave devices , mobile/cordless telephones and radio systems. ProxiCube® is compliant with the applicable EMC standards (see also section 11 EU declaration of conformity), what ensures that there is no related influence on other devices.
It is not advisable to set it up near cooking areas (stoves, ovens, steamers etc.) or in kitchens in general, as cooking vapors can contaminate ProxiCube® excessively and do not provide any meaningful measurement results.
Installation in areas with increased dust accumulation, such as in workshops for wood, metal, stone, plastic processing, bakeries, cleaning companies, textile processing companies and much more is not permitted.
Installation in bathrooms, indoor swimming pools, saunas, steam baths, etc. is not permitted.
4.2 Power supply
The maximum power consumption of the ProxiCube® is, depending on the model, NXF: 300mA, NX1: 400mA, NX3: 700mA. You can find this information on the type plate on the underside of the device.
The maximum power consumption of the ProxiCube® is, depending on the model, NXF: 300mA, NX1: 400mA, NX3: 700mA. You can find this information on the type plate on the underside of the device. Only USB power packs with a minimum current of 1A and a maximum short-circuit current of 3A with an output voltage of 5V DC may be used to power the ProxiCube®. The power pack must have a SELV output and meet the requirements of the EN 61010-1 standard.
You will find a suitable power supply unit as an accessory in the package of your ProxiCube®. Only USB cables (Micro-USB-B plug to USB-A plug) that are suitable for the currents mentioned may be used. The single conductors must have a conductor cross-section of at least 0.204mm² (corresponding to AWG24).
You will find a suitable power supply unit as an accessory in the package of your ProxiCube®. With the exception of the power supply unit and USB connection cable, only parts and accessories for the ProxiCube® that have been explicitly approved by us or have been obtained from us may be used.
The USB connection of the ProxiCube® is used exclusively for its power supply.
Only connect the ProxiCube® to suitable power packs. Operation on other devices (e.g. PC, mobile phone, television set, etc.) is not permitted.
4.3 Handling
4.4 Cleaning
The ProxiCube® must be disconnected from the power supply for all cleaning work. To do this, remove the micro-USB connector from the micro-USB socket of the ProxiCube®, as this serves as an isolating device.
Please do not use any solvent-based or alcohol-based cleaning agents to clean your ProxiCube®. Only wipe the ProxiCube® with a dry, soft cloth. If it is heavily soiled, you can dampen this cloth slightly (slightly damp). It is imperative that you avoid bringing the device into contact with water.
The openings for measuring the room air must always be unrestricted. If necessary, clean the openings with a clean, soft brush. In addition, no maintenance of the ProxiCube® is required. To avoid damage, do not insert any objects into the openings. There are no controls behind the openings for operating the ProxiCube®.

5. Commissioning
- It is important to read section 4. Safety instructions and observe them before using the device.
- Choose a dry location which is protected from water for your ProxiCube®.
- Take the ProxiCube® out of the packaging and place it on a flat and level surface. The ProxiCube® should stand on its underside. We recommend setting up the device in as unrestricted a place as possible in the room to enable a representative measurement. The minimum distance on all sides (apart from the underside) to the next object must not be less than 5 cm. For wall mounting, please use the optional accessories specially designed for the ProxiCube®, which you can obtain from us (as soon as available). If it is wall-mounted without these accessories, secure wall mounting is not guaranteed.
- Connect the supplied USB cable to the ProxiCube® and the power supply unit and then plug the power supply unit into the socket. The ProxiCube® is in operation after being connected to the power supply. To switch off the device, it must be disconnected from the connection cable. Please ensure that the connection cable or the connection socket on the ProxiCube® is freely accessible so that it can be disconnected from the power supply at any time.
- Wait a moment until the configuration of the ProxiCube® has been completed and the display is active. The calibration can take up to 30 minutes. The ProxiCube® then measures the room air actively and highly precisely.
